Heaven v.1

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life," John 3:16.

Millions of Christians have discovered something very valuable:  the greatest source of personal strength is Jesus Christ.  The Lord is faithful.  The Lord is good.  He provides the faith, strength, hope, comfort, and direction that sustain us through life.

God's retirement plan involves many things:

  • Spending eternity with Jesus, family, and friends in Heaven

  • Investing the remainder of your life on earth making a difference in the lives of other people

  • Discovering more about Jesus as you build a vital personal relationship with him.

  • Enjoying the countless blessings that God desires to shower upon your life today and in the future.

We were created with a God-shaped void in our lives that no person or material thing can fill except God Himself.  Faith and a personal relationship with God are truly the most important foundations of life.  Jesus and Jesus alone, can provide a lasting sense of purpose, direction, hope, friendship, and emotional support that is needed to get through this wonderful experience we call life.

A timeless principle to remember:  "God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for the rest of your life."  This is a truth you can count on.  It is true no matter where you have been, no matter what you have done in your past, or no matter what you may be experiencing in the present.  God really does love you, and wants to enable you to succeed.

The Lord wants to bless you.  He is on your side and wants to help in every area of your life.  One of the principles many have learned is that God doesn't always remove, nor insulates Christians from life's problems.  Instead, he equips them with all of the resources they need to get through the problems and grow stronger through the process of dealing with them.  God sees to it that his strength and truths carry over to their lives into the present.  They are there to enable all of us to deal with the large and small issues of daily life.  In addition, the daily blessings he gives his children are truly wonderful.

Unfortunately, many have tried to fill their God-shaped void with everything except a relationship with God.  Admittedly, many attempts are very satisfying.  Many things can bring temporary relief from the emptiness, but the emptiness returns.  While lying in bed late at night or early in the morning, some experience a deep feeling that something is missing, or is just not right.  That haunting feeling of emptiness is best defined as one's soul craving for a relationship with God.  Nothing less than a relationship with God can make that craving go away.

You can put yourself and your family in a position to receive God's blessings.  You will never know what great blessings God will provide unless you put yourself in a position to receive them.  God knows that you need encouragement and blessings.  A great starting point is to read a chapter a day from the Psalms and the Gospel of John.  You will probably remember John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."  Next, seek out and become involved in a friendly Christ-centered church.  The Lord and his people can offer friendship, acceptance, moral support, prayers, and many other blessings.  You can also receive a daily blessing from the Lord by reading your Bible.

How does one get to know Jesus personally?  By FAITH.

  • Forgiveness:  ask God forgive to all your sins

  • Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior

  • Invite him into every area of your life

  • Truth:  discover God's life-changing truths in the Bible and begin following Jesus as Lord of your life

  • Have a great time worshipping God and growing in you relationship with him in a Christ-centered church

If you have been devastated with the loss of your job, your house, your family, or have sustained other tremendous losses, give them and yourself to the Lord.  Invite him into your life and into your life's events and experiences. Ask him to equip you to handle the losses, to recover and grow through the process, and to enable you to grow stronger and closer to him because of them.

If you are already a believer, God wants to enable you to experience GROWTH.

  • Grow stronger in your relationship with God and other Christians.  Spend time with God every day and engage in activities that will encourage your spiritual growth.  Ask God to give you a passion for spiritual growth.

  • Recommit yourself and grow closer to God.  Recession, layoffs, financial difficulties, and a poor economy can cause great stress.  God can help you if you will draw closer to him.  Get to know him intimately.

  • On Sunday, go to a Christ-centered church where you can serve God, make friends with other people, and make a difference with your life.

  • Witness to others about your faith by telling them about Jesus.  Don't just stand there, get involved.  Ask God to use you to help other people.

  • Take charge of your personal spiritual growth, and lead your family to grow spiritually as well.  Ask God's Holy Spirit to lead you every day.

  • Have a renewal of your faith.  Here is a Guarantee for Christians:  if you will invest yourself in a more intimate and closer relationship with the Lord, he will bring blessings into every area of your life that honors him.

Never forget that the ultimate blessing and power source for life is Jesus.  For more information about God's wonderful plan for the rest of your life and to discover how to know Jesus personally, click this link:
